Brew #9 — Attack of the Cloberon

An Oberon Clone

With a new roommate occupying some fermenting space in my house, my girlfriend was kind (more like brave) enough to let me brew at her place. Watching out for boil-overs like a hawk I managed to keep things spill-free making this brew day a success!

See below for a quick time-lapse video of the bottling process. I just wish it went that fast!

I loosely based my extract recipe from an all-grain recipe from this forum.

Below is my franken-recipe…

Steep 12 oz Munich & 8 oz Belgian Caravienne at 155° for 40 mins
remove grains and drain grain bag. Bring to a boil.
Turn off heat and add 3 lbs light DME & 3 lbs wheat DME stirring in until fully mixed.
Bring to a boil and add:
1 oz Hersbrucker 3.3% for 60
½ oz Hersbrucker 3.3% for 30
½ oz Saaz 3.5% for 15
1/3 oz Saaz 3.5% for 7 minutes
Pitch with WPL001 California Ale Yeast
This isn’t the yeast the recipe calls for, which is Wyeast 1010 American Wheat yeast. So, we’ll see how the final result ends up.
